Writer, Editor, and Consultant Marjorie Kelly Visits Truman

On February 28, 2013, Marjorie Kelly, author and Tellus Institute fellow, will be giving an all-campus talked titled ?From English Major to Ownership Design Consultant: How I found my way from Hemingway to narrative nonfiction to business consulting, and made a living (and had a blast) along the way.? The talk will take place in Violette Hall 110 at 3:30 and will be followed by a signing of Kelly?s latest book, Owning our Future: The Emerging Ownership Revolution. This event is being sponsored by the School of Business, Departments of English and Linguistics and Interdisciplinary Studies, and the Writing Across the Curriculum Committee.

Kelly?s insights are the result of study at the University of Missouri School of Journalism and a 20 year presidency of the Journal of Business Ethics. In Owning our Future: The Emerging Ownership Revolution, Kelly demonstrates that ownership by employees, community residents, and mission-driven charities, rather than by absentee shareholders, is the key to world class performance. Stocked with solutions bother ethically and fiscally profitable, Kelly emerges as an example of ingenuity in an increasingly competitive world.
